The amount of data available to us is staggering. I saw an infographic that broke down the amount of data generated on the Internet every minute. It was crazy. Facebook users share almost 700,000 pieces of content every minute.
Same goes for labor data. We have the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. Department of Labor, individual state departments, etc. etc. That’s why I had to laugh when I saw this cartoon from our friends at Kronos.
The key isn’t finding tons of data. It’s finding the right data. Think of it as the difference between quenching your thirst with a glass of water and drinking through a fire hose. Being able to curate data is a necessary skill.
